There has been significant rise in the domestic price for Acetic Acid. In last one week prices has increased from the level of Rs.35 to Rs.43-44/Kg. Although supply of Methanol is normal but Acetic price has become highly abnormal. The reason behind this according to one of the trader is that domestic manufacturer GSFC has shut down its Acetic acid unit which has led to shortage of the chemical.
