Bharat Petroleum Corporation is set to increase its refining capacity to nearly 50 million tonnes per year by the year 2020-21. This increase could be realized as 60% jump in its current capacity. Te company aims to increase 15 mt of refining capacity from each of its refineries at Kochi, Bina and Mumbai. The company targets to increase capacity by 15.5 mt at its Kochi refinery. For Bina refinery, which is joint venture with Oman Oil Company the capacity, will be expanded in two phases; to 7.8 mt by 2018 and 15 mt by 2020-21.
