Celanese Corp has partnered with Japanese company Mitsui Chem for building of Methanol plant in Texas. The two companies has agreed for joint venture for this facility. The plant will have the production capacity of 1.3 million tons of Methanol per year. The companies has also agreed on mutual consent of five year arrangement for Celanese to purchase Methanol from Mitsui until the completion of their unit is Clear Lake, Texas. The unit is expected to start up its production in October 2015.
