The two leading petrochemical companies of the world has agreed for joint venture for Methanol production in 2013 and increase production at Bishop in Texas, USA. The companies also entered an 5 year agreement where Celanese to purchase methanol from Mitsui at Clear Lake.
The Methanol unit here will have the production capacity of 1.3 millions mt/year. The production is likely to commence by 1 October 2015.
