The China’s Shandong Yuhuang Chemical (Group) Co’s subsidiary, Yuhuang Chemical Inc. (YCI; Houston), has recently purchased world-scale methanol complex along the river Mississippi for US$ 1.85 billion. The plant is going to get natural gas transportation via Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco). The plant based on Air Liquide’s Lurgi Mega Methanol technology will produce 1.7 mmtpa of methanol.
