US based Exxon Mobil has shut down its Beaumonth refinery due to hurricane Laura. The step has been taken as a safety measure before this natural calamity hit the city.
The refinery is based at Texas in US. It has variety of products like benzene, toluene, mixed xylenes, paraxylene, ethylene, propylene, polyethylene (PE), polyalphaolefins (PAO). ExxonMobil's Beaumont facilities "have completed a safe and systematic shutdown of operations" ahead of Hurricane Laura, according to a company spokesman. Beaumont is within Jefferson county, Texas, which is under mandatory evacuation orders.
