BP will carry out maintenance lasting about a month at its two steam crackers at Gelsenkirchen in Germany starting mid-August, a source close to the company said Friday.
The two crackers have a combined capacity to produce 1.05 million mt/year of ethylene and account for 3.5% of European production capacity
Ethylene supply in Europe during July and August is seen better than other olefins, but maintenance may tighten flows.
