Formosa Chemicals and Fibre Corp has shut down its no.1 Styrene Monomer unit after an explosion on Monday which has injured four employees of the company. Company has not announced the impact of damage yet and is waiting for the reports from the scene of incidence. The unit no1 is likely to take one month for its restart.
Blast happened on Monday around 4:30 am in Taipei. The no1 unit has the production capacity of 2,50,000 mt/year.
