Hindustan Petroleum Corp.Ltd. and GAIL(India) have shortlisted the location sites for its refinery and petroleum complex. The three shortlisted sites are in Andhra Pradesh. The refinery to be established will have the capacity of 15 million t/y. The selected sites, for which studies have been completed, are Nakkapalli near Visakhapatnam, Kakinada in East Godavari, and Machilipatnam. HPCL and GAIL have carried out a pre-feasibility and configuration study for an integrated refinery and petrochemical complex and also a standalone petrochemical complex, said Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He noted that a project schedule will depend on completion of a detailed feasibility study, financial appraisal and necessary approvals.
