Indian Oil Corp is planning to expand its Panipat based Naphtha Cracker capacity to 1.2 million tonnes per annum till the end of 2019.
The expansion will amplify the cracker capacity in northern India from about 850,000 tonne per annum. It produces petrochemicals ethylene and propylene.
As per the report, presently the cracker requires around 2 million tonnes of naphtha feedstock per year and takes it naphtha from a few nearby refineries, including IOC's Mathura and Haldia plants.
