Indian Oil Corporation is in discussion for an acquisition in the petrochemical segment. IOC has initiated a talks with South India based Tamil Nadu Petro products to buy the Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB). Although discussions being held are at very primary stage. The LAB plant based in Tamil Nadu has the production capacity of 1,20,000 mt/year.
LAB is being used as a raw material in the manufacturing of soaps and detergents and cleaning agents.
