IOC is enthusiastic to be a big player in manufacturing of building blocks for petrochemicals sector.
The imminent refinery of state-run Indian Oil Corporation at Paradip will be a foremost producer of feedstock for the downstream petrochemicals industry. It is having the capacity of around 15 million tonne per year.
Moreover, Rs 3150 crore polypropylene plant is anticipated to go on stream by 2017. The upcoming projects by IOC include ethylene glycol unit, Paraxylene, and a petrocoke gasification plant. The plant would help in the development of downstream units by providing inputs.
