With downfall in the prices for Propylene the IPA production has increased with Propylene as its raw material. The Acetone based IPA units has been facing tough ties as there has been continuous surge in Acetone prices in Asian market. On contrary last year there was decline in Acetone values adding a significant pressure on Propylene based IPA units and leading to shutdown of many such units. There has been continuous rise in Acetone prices in Asian market since past few weeks. Thus complete opposite to the situation of last year. IPA offers to southeast Asia were at $740/tonne FOB (free on board) NE (northeast) Asia, up by about $20/tonne from the previous week.
