Deepak Fertilizers and Petroleum Corp Ltd. (DFPCL) is planning to increase its IPA and DIPE production capacity at its Taloja plant near Mumbai. DFPCL currently has 70,000 t/y of IPA capacity. With increasing market demand the capacity need to be increased. Around 48% of IPA demand is met through imports.
The company will invest Rs 450 crore to build a new brownfield plant with a production capacity of 100,000 t/y of IPA and 7,000 t/y of DIPE. The project is ex-pected to take 30 months to complete.
In addition, DFPCL has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (HPCL), in which HPCL will supply the main feedstock to DFPCL.
