Iran is looking for an investment of 85 billion dollar in its petrochemical sector to increase its production. According to Moayed Sadr Hossein, chairman if Iran's parliament that government has already committed for 5 billion dollar to the sector and further needs 2.5 billion dollar investment to boost production from 45 million tonnes to 60 million tonnes annually.
Earlier sanctions has significantly affected the country's petrochemical sector. At present 70 billion dollar investment is needed to finish the petrochemical projects which were already started and its completion will bring the capacity of 180 million tonnes annually.
