Japanese Sumitomo Chemical has closed its Chiba cracker permanently from 11th May. The cracker has an ethylene capacity of 415000 mt/year. Now downstream units of Sumitomo’s will take the olefins supply from its joint venture, Keiyo ethylene chiba cracker. It has ethylene capacity of 740000 mt/year.
