Kashima FCC shut by JX Nippon due to fire at No1 Unit

Japanese major petrochemical producer JX Nippon Oil and Energy has shut down its fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) unit.

The reason behind this shutdown was the fire issue at its refinery’s heavy oil circulation pump that is attached to the No1 unit.

The unit is located at Kashima, Japan and having Propylene production capacity of around 60,000 MT/year.
