South Korea based Lotte Chemical Louisiana, LLC, has awarded the contract to construct its proposed Mono Ethylene glycol plant at Lake Charles. The planned MEG facility, with a nameplate capacity of 700,000mt/year of MEG, will be located adjacent to the Ethane cracker. The Ethane cracker is likely to have an Ethylene production capacity of 1million mt/year, with a projected start up in Q4 2018.
This is the second contract that Lotte has awarded to CB&I pertaining to MEG project, with the first being the early work contract to provide to provide construction planning and reviews. The second contract is values in excess of & 365 million.
