South Korea based Lotte Chemical has successfully restarted its butadiene (BD) plant in Daesan, South Korea on 10 December. Earlier the unit was shutdown Iin the first week of March 2020 owing fire in the cracker.
Earlier the cracker with the production capacity of 1.1 million mt/year of ethylene and 550,000 mt/year of propylene was shut on March 4 following an explosion, which injured more than 30 people.
Lotte Chemical had initially planned to restart its BD plant in Daesan with the capacity of 150,000 mt/year in one month after the shutdown, then - in November.
