A major fire broke out the chemical plant in Dahej on Saturday midnight. The plant is under the ownership of Meghmani Chemicals known for manufacturing of organics and pesticides. The reason behind this accident has been stated as excessive pressure in one of the reactors. According to sources explosion took place during recovery of Ethylene Di Chloride. Around 7 people are reported to be injured with two people succumbed to their injuries.
Meghmani Chemicals is one of the leading manufacturers of chemicals in the country. The company has three units in Dahej itself, two in SEZ and one in GIDC of Dahej.
