Taiwan based TASCO has declared force majeure at its MEK unit. The unit was shut down due to fire mishap at its MTBE in Feb end. The unit is likely to remain off-stream for around three months. This unprecedented shut down has affected US as its MEK requirements are met by imports from Asia and UK.
