One of the leading producers of Methanol across the worlds Methnaex has decided to continue shut down of its Egypt based plant. Unit is based Damietta in Egypt. The unit is unlikely to restart in this summer due to peak demand of natural gas in the country. he unit produced 75,000 mt in the first quarter, up 29% from 58,000 mt in the fourth quarter and over nine times the first quarter of 2015's 8,000 mt output. The plant only operated on two days in January due to a disrupted gas pipeline and was then idled in March due to supply restrictions.
