Asia’s methanol prices continued to remain stable for this week. There has been no change specifically in China market since last few weeks. This in tend has led to slowdown in prices and oversupply in Indian market. Last week Methanol prices were assessed in the range of USD 260-280/MTS.
On other side there has been no change in CFR China prices since last three weeks. Prices tend to remain in the range USD 300-320/MTS.
According to sources domestic market in China is not showing any high requirement as most of the downstream manufacturers i.e. Acetic Acid and Formaldehyde plants are either shut down for maintenance or has slowed down their production rate. Experts believe that most of the market players has now adopted the wait and watch stance and are in no hurry to make any crucial decision.
