The Celanese/Mitsui methanol plant will be restarted. Earlier the units were shut down for annual maintenance in March end. The units were bound to restart in May but were put on halt due to some technical fault. "The affected equipments were cooled down to permit an inspection to take place," Celanese said in the filing to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. "Following the inspection, a plan will be developed to address any identified deficiency prior to restart." The unit ius based at Lear Lake in Texas and has the manufacturing capacity of 1.3 mln mt/year.
