Japan based Asahi Kasei and Mitsubishi Chemical has agreed to form a joint venture in which will operate for naphtha cracker at Mizushima in Okayama prefecture. The joint venture has been named as Asahi Kasei Mitsubishi Chemical Ethylene Corp. The company will start its operations in April 2016.
At present both the companies are having their cracker having the capacity of 5,00,000 tonnes/year in Mizushima, Japan.
