Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Pvt Ltd is planning to shut down its refinery complex and its hydrocracker for maintenance due to water shortage. At present summer is at its peak and there is water shortage in various parts of the country. The company will shut down its 96,000 bbl/day crude unit & hydrocracker today. Another 60,000 bbl/day crude unit is already shut for a maintenance work. The partial shutdown is expected to remain in force till mid-June, 2019. It is based at Mangalore and has the production capacity of 15 milllion mt/year.
