Hengli Petrochemical of China will soon start a new MEG unit. The unit is likely to go on-stream by end of November 2019. Unit is based in China and has the production capacity of 9, 00,000 tonnes/year. There has been decline in values of MEG since past two months. The slowdown is due to weakening of downstream industry i.e. polyester industry. There will be addition of new capacities in next few months in China market with starting of new MEG manufacturing units.
