There is an expectation for the decline in the supply of Ortho Xylene in Asian market. There has been lull demand for the product as a result production capacity has been curtailed by major units. OC is co-produced with Para Xylene.Reliance (RIL) has already reduced the operation rate of its facility. This cutdown in production will last till August. Unit is based at Jamnagar in Gujarat and has the production capacity of 5, 00,000 tonnes/year.Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp (FCFC) has maintained the operating of its no3 unit at 50% of its capacity. The unit has an overall production capacity of 2,50,000 tonnes/year.
