Karnataka based Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has taken an emergency step of closing down its refinery. The reason for this emergency shutdown was technical glitch. The unit is likely to remain off-stream for around one week and is expected to resume its production by next week.
The refinery is located in Mangalore in Karnataka and has the production capacity of 4,40,000 mt/year.
