India’s Reliance Industries Limited is likely to complete the expansion of its benzene capacity in Jamnagar to 500,000million mt/year by the first half of 2016. At present, the company is able to produce 520,000mt/year of Benzene from its Aromatic plant located in Jamnagar, Gujarat state of India.
After the expansion, RIL will be able to produce 1.02million mt/year of benzene from its Jamnagar aromatic plant and the company’s combined capacity is expected to reach 1.29million mt/year. RIL also operates two crackers in Hazira and Baroda that have a production capacity of Benzene around 210,000mt/year and 60,000mt/year respectively.
