Shell plans to join CNOOC expansion project

Shell Nanhai and China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) have signed an agreement, under which Shell is planning to join an ongoing CNOOC expansion project.

Shell will join CNOOC's project to complete construction of an ethylene cracker with above 1-million tonne/year of capacity being built neighboring to CSPC existing complex in Huizhou, Guangdong, China.  

As per the report, in the agreement ethylene derivatives units are also include such as styrene monomer, propylene oxide, ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol facility, both based on Shell technologies.
