Three major Iranian petrochemical plans will become operational in the current fiscal year that ends in March 2018, managing director of the National Petrochemical Company said.
The announcement comes as construction of a major petrochemical plant with an output capacity of 700,000 tons of ethylene and 150,000 tons of propylene annually in the western Ilam Province commenced last month. The petrochem company is planning to finalize preliminary agreements on licensing and construction projects within three months, in what could see the world’s top energy firms return to Iran’s petrochemical market after years of absence.
