- In international market, prices of EDC have remained firm in compare to earlier week.
- This week crude oil prices have fluctuated. On Thursday, prices boosted by OPEC production cuts and the potential for new U.S. sanctions against Iran, but gains were limited by growing U.S. crude inventories.
- EDC prices have remained stable on firm demand sentiments from end users.
- Mitsui Chemicals is planning shut its naphtha-fed for a maintenance turnaround in mid-June 2018 until end-July 2018. It is located in Sakai, Japan, the cracker has an ethylene production capacity of 500,000 mt/year and propylene production capacity of 280,000 mt/year.
- Mitsubishi Chemical is in plans to shut its naphtha cracker for a maintenance turnaround in early-May, 2018 for around two months. Located at Kashima in Japan, the cracker has an ethylene production capacity of 540,000 mt/year and a propylene capacity of 260,000 mt/year.
- This week feedstock ethylene prices fall on sufficient regional product availability with tedious buying interest in the region.
