Weekly Price Trend: 04-09-2017 to 08-09-2017

• If we take a quick look at the above given weekly prices, it can be observed that for the current week prices of Styrene Monomer have increased in compare to previous week and at the end of the week prices were assessed Rs.98/Kg for bulk quantity at Kandla and Rs 98/kg for Mumbai ports of India.

• The domestic prices of Styrene were assessed at the level of Rs.98/Kg for ex Kandla and Rs 98/kg Mumbai ports.
• CIF India prices were assessed at the level of USD 1270/MT.
• This week FOB Korea prices were assessed USD 1385/MTS prices have increased in compared to last week’s closing prices.
• As per report, US styrene monomer capacity is around 4.893 million mt/year. Most units impacted by the storm. Around 2.529 million mt/year is in Texas and 2.364 million/mt in Louisiana.
• SM prices in Europe increased on supply tightness by Hurricane Harvey.
• Some market participants even worried that the supply crunch will be till October as SM supply resumption timing from the US was uncertain.
• China’s SM import from US plunged on account of plants maintenance turnarounds in US and rising domestic output.
• This week feedstock benzene prices have increased.
• FOB Korea and CFR China prices of Benzene were evaluated at USD 805/mt and USD 820/mt respectively.
