Lotte Chemical of Indonesia is in process of starting a new cracker at Cilegon in Indonesia. The company has already purchased 60 hectares of land for this petrochemical project. The project will take time for its inception. According to company sources this new cracker will produce 1mln mt/year of Ethylene and 6,00,000 mt/year of Propylene. GAIL Ltd has approached the environment and forest ministry for setting up a petrochemical complex in Andhra Pradesh. The petrochemical complex will have the capacity of 1 million tone pr annum. Assam Petrochemicals Limited is planning to invest about INR 1337 crore to set up second unit for the production of methanol and Formalin. As per report, the new plant in Namrup will produce around 500 mt per day Methanol and 200 TPD Formalin. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company is planning to build a new cracker and refineries as part of its expansion program.
