Exxon Mobil has reached an agreement with Jurong Aromatics to puirchase its aromatic unit in Singapore which will boost its output and will cater the demands of Asian customers. The company expects to complete the transaction in the second half of 2017, boosting its aromatics production in Singapore to more than 3.5 million tonnes per year (tpy), including 1.8 million tpy of paraxylene, a raw material for textiles and bottles. Saudi International Petrochemical Company has announced the periodic maintenance for its Vinyl Acetate Monomer unit of the International Vinyl Acetate Company (IVC). India’s largest investor in Egypt’s petrochemical segment has decided to further increase its investments to 1.5billion dollar in Egypt.
