Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (BPCL) has received approval from its board of directors to establish facilities for the production of polyols, propylene glycol and monoethylene glycol in Kochi, India. The project, will cost around Rs 11,130 crore and will be based at the company's Kochi Refinery, where its refining capacity is currently being expanded to 15.5-million t/y from 9.5-million t/y. BPCL is also establishing its new Propylene Derivatives Petrochemical Project (PDPP) at Kochi, which involves the production of acrylic acid acrylates and oxo alcohols. Production is expected to start during fiscal 2018-2019.
