Chevron Phillips Chemical is planning to shut down its Para Xylene unit Pascagoula, Mississippi. The company did not specify the reason for this shut down, but will leave this business by end of this year. The company said it is leaving the business because it is not material to the company's financial results.The plant has the production capacity of 4,95,000 tonnes/year. The plant represents about 10% of US capacity.
