LyondellBasell is planning to restart its olefins and polymer units by end of September or in the first week of October. Earlier the units were shut down due to hurricane Harvey in Texas. According to company sources,”LyonellBasell Gul Coast plants are in various stages of restart or ramp-up”. Among other plants affected by Harvey, Braskem's 227,000 mt/year polypropylene facility in Seadrift, Texas, remained on "hot standby," ready to restart upon restoration of area utilities and other services, a spokeswoman said in an email on Wednesday.
