Published on June 16, 2014

With the formation of new government all the major sectors of the country like agro, pharma, manufacturing, construction etc. waiting anxiously for the new budgetary policies and reforms. Demand for fertilizers in the country has been increasing over the years. India has become one of the leading manufacturer and consumer of fertilizer in the world.

Indian government is planning to raise the Urea prices. The rise could be of around 10 percent in order to restrain the subsidy cost which has been consistently adding on to the pressure on the budgetary scales. Industry has been forcing on to the government to raise the subsidy as in past the last government did not focused on this issue due to political reasons. One more reason for increase has been the hike in the prices of natural gas. Since April prices for natural gas has almost doubled.
Monsoon has become active in almost whole of the country. As the week progresses, showers will be seen in almost whole of the country. Chemicals used in fertilizer industry like C9, Toluene, and phosphate will gain more and more demand once sowing season starts.
