As per the Industry report the growth of plywood and laminates industry was roughly unwavering since last two financial years. Last two quarters of current financial year have resulted to cash flow crunch in the trade and industry.
Some market players said that after long deceleration in demand of laminate products the last two months were fruitful and bring new hopes for plywood companies. Festive season has pushed up the demand of plywood products. During that time all the trade players were busy as customers were buying material for renovation work and opening of novel shops.
According to the researched report, for face requirement an alternative sources of logs from other countries is being searched by Indian Plywood face veering mills, after ban in Burma logs export.
However, Indian plywood producers have successfully got the alternative logs option from Africa and South-East Asia. As per the industry experts, Indian plywood manufacturers had been importing logs valued 30,000 cubic metres a month from Myanmar before the ban that was applied on 31st March, 2014.
As per the recent reports, laminate manufacturers has wanted from government to declare plywood industry as agro–based industry which will entitle them to incentive in the shape of lower rate of interest from financial institutions, apart from agro based industry ,the association also demand lower the VAT from 14 percent to 4 percent as it was.
These changes will minimize the import from other countries and improve the business opportunities in country in near term outlook.
