A Plastic Park project is being planned by government in Kannur on 40-acre land with the investment of Rs.2000 crore. At present plastic parks are planned in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. Plastic manufacturing companies will come to invest in this park according to All India Plastic Manufacturing Association (AIPMA). According to a study report plastic industry is expected to make investment of $10 billion for further increase in capacities during next five years.
Recent news said that Indian plastic industry will now move on to Dubai for business. A Dubai based plastic firm has joined hands with Plastic Export promotion Councile (PEPC) for making strong presence of Indian plastic players at Arabplast 2013. Sources said that approx 150 exhibitors and plastic manufacturer will take part in this event which is fourth largest trade show in the world, to be held in Jan 7-10.
A five day event Plastivision India 2013 happened in India to focus issues in the industry and to create B2B gathering of plastic industry and its other stake holders. Industry has committed itself for doing everything to prevent environment from the bad effect of plastic. Industry sources said that industry will mainly focus on the recycling capability and creating higher percentage of recycled products. A mega deal is been heard between Specialty Chemical maker Clariant International Ltd. and Plastichemix Industries, an India-based masterbatch producer. Clariant has acquired Plastichemix Industries which is located at Vadodara having production of plastic and other related things.
