Presently the sale of commercial plywood, decorative plywood and laminate have picked up. In India, Maharashtra and Karnataka are performing better leading to highest flow of orders of plywood.

As per the market analyst, it is high time for Indian plywood industry to opt GREXIT (Gurjan-Exit). India has been paying high cost for face veneer affair post Myanmar logs export ban in 2014. Indian plywood sector is losing its money by paying 250% higher price which is not a sustainable option.

Indian consumers and Industry are going to loose money for no actual role of it. Due to this market players have said that it is right to stand to opt for GREXIT; plywood without Gurjan face veneer to save the product and to keep customers intact, said by market players.

Some market players have said that the currently stock of face veneer has declined, which led to sharp increase in the prices of plywood products.

As per the market report, market player have said that in near term demand sentiments is anticipated to go up but the competition level also will be the higher because the capacity additions are in full speed. Moreover, by the mid of 2017 big players will be in good position who is having good sales network, while those who are selling their products on lower prices will face tough competition.
