About 95% of ethylene dichloride (EDC) is being used in the manufacture of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), nearly all of which goes into polyvinyl chloride (PVC), EDC demand, supply and balances are influenced by the PVC market.
In India EDC is majorly imported from United State and Germany. Indonesia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Korea are the other countries from where EDC is imported in lesser quantity.
