Brief History : Phthalic anhydride was first reported by the French chemist Auguste Laurent in 1836.
About the Product : Phthalic anhydride, an organic compound, is the anhydride of phthalic acid. It is a white crystalline solid. It is an important industrial chemical and used for production of plasticizers for plastics. It I also used as an intermediate in organic chemistry. The most important reaction of Phthalic Anhydride is with alcohols or diols and which will produce esters or polyesters.
