Chemical plant manufactures styrene monomer (sold to customers in North America for manufacture of a variety of commercial and consumer products such as food containers, domestic insulation, CD’s/Cassettes, car interiors and safety helmets). Styrene monomer is one of the compounds that are used in the making of CD’s and Cassettes for tarnishing and the film finish. Styrene monomer is imported in our country as the country does not have producers of this specific chemical in India. Of the lot of the exporters, Shell chemicals in collaboration with Scot ford are major exporter of this particular chemical specifically to be used in CD’s and Cassettes in film-making.
